Calling And Ministry
Dupe Raphael-Ogbe (Nee Modupe Adefemiwa) is an ordained Minister of God in The Redeemed Christian Church of God. She was born in 1975 into the family of Late Pa and Mrs Isaiah Adefemiwa of Tupu Royal Family.
She hails from Oboro town of Apoi Land in ESE-ODO Local Government Area of Ondo State. She is a graduate of Economics/Education and has taught Economics and Music in various Secondary Schools in Lagos State.
Sister Ogbe (as she is fondly called) is the first born of her mother among four siblings. She was raised in a strong christian home by a very strict disciplinarian father who was a retired itinerant Anglican Church Cathechist.
Dupe grew up displaying a remarkable talent for music. Her first exposure to an empowering music environment was in Deeper Life Bible Church where she attended the Children Church, got saved and grew up as a young christian.
To put it humbly, Sister Dupe displays many outstanding musical abilities that have endeared her to everyone who has heared or watched her perform.
Her sweet and charming, sonorous and highly versatile voice can be disarming, inspiring and delightful to hear. It is trained to perform various music genres ranging from Advanced Classical Solo renditions, Jazz, Contemporary Gospel music, highlife and sometimes blues and gospel Fuji to name a few.
Dupe is also an instrumentalist with dexterity on the Piano , Saxophone and the Drum set.
Sis Dupe is happily married to Pastor Raphael Ogbe who is also a Pastor, Multi-instrumentalist, and Engineer in The Redeemed Christian Church of God. They have two children, Opeyemi and Melody and reside together in Lagos State.
Dupe identified her true calling after she had a stint in the secular teaching and business. God led her to fully embrace her calling which involves Music, Bible Teaching and Marriage Counselling for Married and Singles, and Ministering to Women (especially Female Ministers)
Sis Dupe as well as her husband, are also Choir Leaders and Music Directors of several years experience. Her Choir leadership stint cuts across various levels in and outside R.C.C.G.
Leveraging her several years experience as a Gospel Musician, Music teacher, Minister and Director (in collaboration with her husband), she discovered various skill gaps and lacunas in Church Music Administration in the Churches especially in Nigeria.
So many of these gaps inform the mediocrity, unethical practices and lack of commitments observed in Choristers across various churches.
Closely related to this is the gradual dearth of proficient instrumentalists in the churches. Pastors and church leaders are thus helpless and sometimes at the mercy of a few available instrumentalists some of who have barely cut their musical teeth. In an effort to contribute towards bridging some of these gaps and shorten the learning curve among choristers, a Social Networking Site – CHOIR SOLUTIONS has been started where various church musicians, instrumentalists (all referred to as Talents) can come together to discover and be discovered as Individuals. Those who need talents can visit the site and scout for available talents they may be persuaded to engage.
The site also has a blog and discussion forum where informative choir issues and events of various sorts are treated including Choir Fashions and Wears, Voice training, the “How To’s” do this and that as in Rehearsing, conducting, stage music concerts, organize a choir without previous experience, sing and present Hymns the standard way, foster good relations between Music Minister and Choir Leaders, deal with sensitive choir issues of spiritual, cognitive and emotional nature.
